Resume cover letter: 1 class short of degree?
I am applying for a job at work that requires a bachelor’s degree. Resumes are due next week. I will finish my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration this summer. I am one class shy–I will be taking Advanced Statistics June-July, and will receive my diploma in the mail after that.
How can I word this in my cover letter? Should I mention the specific class? Just say that I will be graduating this summer and leave it at that? Any help would be much appreciated.
On your resume just put the July, 2008 as the date of graduation.
In your cover letter include “I will be graduating in July, 2008 from Whatever U. with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. I have one class remaining.”
You can discuss which class in the interview. Be very enthusiastic in your cover letter. List all your good points in bold type! Good luck!
